Is it possible to train as a nursery nurse withou actually working in the field during the training?

I have a full time job, and are therefore not in a position to take time off to do placements in schools, but I would really like to try this alternative career as I have been doing my current job for 10 years. Is this possible, as all the courses I have found involve placements in childcare establishments. I found a distance learning course, but I don't think this was an actual NNEB/NVQ. I am an NVQ assessor in the job I already do, so I am familiar with what kind of training would be involved if I did the NVQ entry route - does anyone know?

Thanks

xx
