What does training to be a nurse involve?

Hello. Can anyone tell what you do while studying for your nursing degree? Like what coursework do you do, what lectures do you have, where do you go, what do you do (i.e. shadowing people)? Basically, I have to write a description in what GETTING the nursing degree involves. I also have to do it for the nursing diploma if anyone knows about that.
