Your Body Is A Fast Fat Burning Machine

YOUR BODY IS A MACHINE AND MACHINES WORK! How many times have you purchased a new electronic gadget only to forget about it. When you were finally cleaning the place out you 'found; it and thought perhaps you should try it out. Lo and behold it wouldn't work because it had rusted or deteriorated in some way. To keep a machine in good operating order it needs to be used. The human body your body is also a machine. What we eat and drink becomes the fuel for the machine. It needs to be used.Active bodies burn fat fast. It needs activity above and beyond the involuntary regulation of organs such as the heart. Most people spend their day being inactive, so even eating healthy can have minimal effects. That is why most people dread the E word exercise takes up time, time which you would perhaps spend watching some television or cuddled up in bed or socializing (which means more eating and drinking). The excuses people come up with to avoid exercise are varied and numerous. But the bottom line is exercise burns fat fast. You don't want to go to the gym? Don't go if that is not what you want to do. However, you do need to engage in some type of physical activity on a regular basis. Start with something simple like a walk. Make it at a time convenient to you. Once you get in the routine of walking you can step it up to a jog. Do whatever is comfortable for you. If you live in a high rise or work in a tower, walk up and down the stairs. You are not expected to go up and down 30 floors of course; just two to three floors to start with and then gradually a little more, going up to six or eight or even ten. If you do this a few times a day, you have got a good exercise habit in place. Going up and down the stairs is a great aerobic exercise. It also helps keep the legs, knees and ankle joints limber. Start using the stairs at other places as well instead of taking an elevator. Regular physical activity will help you lose weight fast and keep you fit. Simple isn't it? Can you do it? Of course! Key Safety Tips For Any Person Thinking About Cleaning The Gutters Of Their Home

Ideally, guttering on a home should be attended to twice each year. The exact frequency depends on the location and surrounding aspects, (trees and so forth). Take these basic safety tips for any person thinking about cleaning the gutters of their home.

Ahead of any other task, it is important to plan the process. In almost all cases, a ladder will be needed of course. However, if there is a strong and resilient roof structure; this may work as a suitable platform to stand on.

Using a ladder can be dangerous; so it is important to take care. Before stepping on a ladder, it is important to ensure the strength and solidity of the equipment is up to the task. If there are any concerns; it shouldn't be used.

Reaching out from a ladder to clean the gutters is one of the most basic mistakes that cause accidents. Checking the ladder reaches sufficiently will stop this. Also moving the ladder along each time rather than reaching is key.

The ladder will most likely have to lean up against the gutter. This can be dangerous; leading to slippage and falling. Use a 2 x 4 in the gutter to strengthen it. Professionals have specialized attachments to lean against the wall which is far safer.

Other safety tips you need when using a ladder is ensuring a safe and appropriate angle is used and maintaining your body within the ladder width.

It is important that two people work on the cleaning the guttering; to provide both support and be on standby should the worst case scenario occur. Having other important equipment such as; goggles, gloves, hosing will be necessary. A plumber's snake may also be needed for blockages.

Self cleaning guttering is an expensive and potentially dangerous task, and for these reasons it is well worth considering the professionals. They are affordable, and have all the training of course; so are likely to be the better choice all ends up really.

Acne and How to Remove Blackheads

Acne, or as it is known by its scienitific name acne vulgaris, is a skin condition that is very common and that is caused by disturbances in our pilosebaceous units. A pilosebaceous unit consists of a hair follicle and a sebaceous gland. 90% of all teenagers have problems with acne of some degree and it is common for the problem to persisit into adulthood.Today, several different acne treatment options are available depending on the severity of the problem. Strong acne medication usually requires a prescription, milder products can be bought over the counter in most pharmacies.Lesl severe cases are usually treated using benzoyl peroxide administered by the use of soaps, creams and gels. Make sure that you check the strenght of a product before you buy it as it can vary a lot. Benzoyl peroxide helps by dissolving the keratin that plugs the pores and will aslo help kill. Propionibacterium acnes a relatively slow growing, typically aerotolerant bacterium linked to acne.Another way to treat acne is to use antibiotics that are ingested or applied to the skin.. Persons with limited acne problems on easy to reach areas of their body usually use topical antibiotic creams while. the chest or face. individuals with severe acne or acne in hard to reach spots more commony use orally ingested antibiotics instead, they do however have a larger impact on the body and can cuase side effects like stomach problems. Always tell the doctor if you use any hormones before getting a acne treatmen as hormones and antibiotics can interfere with eachother, this especially improtant if you use hormonal contraceptives.A special type of acne vulgaris is the blackhead, a condition formally known as open comedo. A blackhead is a black to yellowish bump or plug on the skin caused by excess oils accumulated in the duct of the sebaceous gland. Contrary to popular belief, blackheads are not caused by poor skin hygiene. In fact, excess scrubbing of the skin or the use of unsuitable cleaners can cause dryness which prompts the body to produce even more oils. Many wants to know how to remove blackheads since they do not like the way they look, there are however no medical need to remove blackheads and the body will eliminate them in time. Blackheads can be treated using acne meds containing salicylic acid. A popular over the counter alternative to prescription medicine is a simple adhesive strip that is placed on the skin and removed after 5-10 minutes, taking the blackheads underneath with it.

Are You Thinking Of Training For A Career In The Health Field?

As other industries continue to cut back on staff due to the economic downturn, the health care sector is growing rapidly. If you are considering training for a career in the health field, this is an excellent time to start make inquiries. Research shows that more than 300,000 jobs in health care were created in the USA last year.

You can train in many different fields of health care. If you want to work closely with nurses, doctors and other medical professionals, you could consider training as a medical assistant. You will meet patients, record their medical histories, and be trained to take vital signs. You will also be called upon to assist in many other circumstances.

Similar training would be given to a person wanting to be a dental assistant. The only difference is that you would work in the dental sector. Duties will include reception work, booking of appointments and laying out instruments for procedures. In addition, you will assist during dental procedures.

If you prefer to work in a less clinical environment, consider training as a massage therapist. This occupation will ideally suit the type of person who enjoys interacting with people from all walks of life. Your patients will include those who need some pampering, but you will also get to work with people who are recovering from injuries.

A pharmacy technician will never be out of a job. If you are good with maths and science and enjoy working with the public, you will find this career very rewarding. Working under a registered pharmacist, you will be required to dispense prescription medications, do admin work and help the pharmacist with all kinds of other tasks.

There are many other career choices in the health sector. Have a look at some websites that offer more details about these, and other, health care occupations. There are many specialist schools where you can train. These details are also online. There's no doubt that choosing to work in the health care industry is a good choice.

Acne and blackheads

Acne is a common skin condition that affects almost 90 percent of all teenagers due to the hormonal changes the body is subjected to during puberty. Acne, which used to be known as acne vulgaris, problems can persist into adulthood but acne is mainly a puberty related problem.Acne is not a new ailment and several pharaohs did for instance suffer from this skin problem. In ancient Rome they used sulphur in mineral water to treat acne and the use of suplhur as a treatment against acne survive well into the 19th century. Benzoyl peroxide was used as earlu as the 1920s but during the 1930s they tried a lot of other alternatives including radiation treatment and laxatives against acne. Once antibiotics started to get wide spread during the 50s doctors and patients started noticing that is had an effect on infected pimples as well. In time creams containing antibiotics were developed to treat acne. In the 1980s oral isotretinoin turned out to be an effective aid in the struggle against acne, but the compound turned out to be highly unsuitable for pregnant women since it lead to miscarriages and birth defects.Women who suffers from acne can sometimes be treated by a hormonal acne treatment. The estrogen / progestogen that is present in contraceptives can have some effect but serious problems usually require stronger hormon treatment. In cases where one or a few pimples grow especially big and do not respond to other acne medication, a doctor might inject hydrocortisone into it. Even a small shot of cortisone tend to reduce redness and inflammation right away, but cortisone does come with serious side effects, especially if used for any longer period of time.Camedones or blackheads as they are more commonly referred to today are a type of acne vulgaris where oil accumulate in the pores (sebaceous galnds). A common myth is that blackheads are caused by poor hygiene but this myth is not true. Excessive cleaning can actually worsen the problem by causing dry skin, this prompting the body to produce even more oils.Blackheads are usually unpleassant to look at but they are not dangerous, that said you might still want to know how to remove blackheads without causing damage to the surrounding skin. Strips or tape is a common readily available solutions to blackheads, they are addhessive strips places on the blackheads. The blackheads will be removed when the tape are removed as they stick to the tape. For individuals with a lot of blackhead related problems the strips can be impractical due to their temporary relief and in this cases salicylic acid might be a better solution.

Why you should take Castor Oil every day

Yes, your grandmother was right, castor oil is good for you, and in fact it's very good for you. Its a bit of a blast from the past and isnt as fashionable as a retro phones, but it should be part of our modern lives. Its taste isnt nice, but you can try and mask the flavour with lemon. I do remember being a kid and refusing to open my mouth to take it. But what is Castor Oil exactly? It comes from the an Indian plant, the Castor plant. The oil is made from the plants beans, that arent really beans at all? The oil is made of up a combination of 3 fatty oils, 1) palmitic acid 2) oleic acid amd 3) alpha-linolenic acid and a single glycerol molecule. Having all of these fatty acids present means that Castor Oil contains twice as much energy as carbohydrates and proteins making Castor oil play an important role in human metabolism.Traditonal medicine called for the use of Castor Oil in skin problems, cuts and even headaches. Many doctors still advise on what is called a castor oil pack, which is made by soaking a piece of flannel in castor oil, then putting it on the area of complaint and placing a heat source, such as hot water bottles, on top of that. From Constipation to Liver and kidney disorders, A Castor Oil pack is said to benefit them all. Just like acupuncture, Castor Oil helps blood flow through the skin. What is amasing is Castor Oil's ability to improve the bodies immune system, its does this by increasing the number of lymphocytes in the body, lymphocytes are what the body needs to fight off infection. A holistic treatment, a Castor oil pack would be applied to the stomach around 3 times a week, and could have improved blood flow, because Castor Oil's molecular weight is so low that it is easily absorbed deep into the skin. How to make a Castor oil pack: then three sheets of cotton or wool, this should be big enough to cover the affected area * Castor oil * Plastic wrap cut 1-2" larger than the flannel (can be cut from a plastic bag) * Classic Hot water bottle * Container with lid * Old clothes and sheets. Castor oil will stain clothing and bedding. So thats it, Castor oil is a hero after all. And if your a wuss, you could always add lemon to make it taste better.

Eat More, Lose More Weight Fast!

Eat More to Lose Weight If there's one rule in weight management it's eat lesser amounts, but more frequent meals Following this simple rule practically guarantees weight lossHere are 3 simple rules to lose weight fast: 1. Bye-bye over-eating: When eating many times throughout the day we greatly diminish our cravings. Eating small meals throughout the day keeps us from gorging at one meal and gives us the opportunity to really taste our food. 2. No binges: More frequent eating equals less hunger. Healthy snacks in the morning means less hunger at lunch or dinner. If you're not hungry you're not binging! Make healthy food choices when you eat like choosing proteins and carbs such as nuts and grains. Protein takes longer to digest than carbs, so you'll stay satisfied longer. This simple rule alone will boost your metabolism for the fastest fat burning possible!3. Fire up your metabolism: Eating on a regular basis helps the body's metabolism utilize food better. When we abstain from eating for long periods of time, the body tends to slow down it's metabolic rate to conserve energy. Regular meals tell the body it has an abundance of fuel to burn. When the body knows it has fuel to use, it uses it and you will feel the surge in energy in no time. Switching to six meals a day also has benefits beyond weight control. Energy released into the body at regular intervals throughout the day means we will have more attention, clarity and stamina to do our activities. When you are not overloaded with empty calories you make more food healthy choices.I Hope you enjoyed these three tips to lose weight fast. Start using them immediately for best results.

Please help. What is a typical schedule for a nurse? I really want to go to school to be an RN.?

Read first please.

I'm 19 and engaged. I'm going to a community college and still taking the general courses. My fiancé does not want me to become a nurse because he believes i'll barely ever see me when I go into the career, and that it won't be ideal for our marriage. However, it's something I'm really interested in and I prefer nursing over a psychology career.

Does anyone have experience or thoughts on this? I really want to be a nurse and will it destroy a marriage and will I have no time? What are typical schedules??
Thanks :)

Do Chiropractors Work As Effective As My Family MD?

Unknown

Most medical doctors treat the majority of your ailments by either surgery, poisoning the illness or burning it with chemicals or heat. Instead of invasive surgery, risky chemical treatments or injection of toxins that are deadly, chiropractors use a different way to help your body heal itself. Due to the fact that nearly all patients walk out without any significant injury or recovery time, they fall under suspicion with many people. Chiropractors endeavor to treat illness and disease in the body, especially pain, through non-invasive, non-chemical avenues before resorting to the more drastic and dramatic forms of treatment.

As more and more people are healed by chiropractic treatment, the rank of its satisfied customers grows to irrefutable numbers and demands the attention of the entire medical community.

The satisfaction of being treated by a form of medicine that doesn't involve injuring you in some way is enormous, so much so that many people don't even mind that they don't know exactly how it works. Even though there are more chiropractors than there are general practitioners, it is still a very in demand type of medical field. Many other forms of treatment require the patient to use drugs, but chiropractic treatment is drug free which draws an even larger audience.

What make up chiropractic?

Comprised of 2 Greek words, Chiropractic literally translates into something similar to "the practice utilizing the hands". This gives a bit of insight into the actual practice being that it is done with very well trained hands and involves signification action while adjusting clients.

In a brief explanation, a chiropractor will use force to adjust the bones of the spine, and other joints, to free up nerve signal channels so the body can communicate easier. These adjustments are called "manipulations" and are designed and intended to position the bones in a joint at the correct locations.

Is A Chiropractor A Normal MD?

Any prospective medical professional has to take a required number of classes ranging from anatomy and physiology to more scrutinizing biology classes. The number of laboratory, clinical and classroom hours for each chiropractor is 4200 hours. Any medical professional is a demanding course of study and seeking a doctorate degree after the undergraduate studies are completed, if no different, given that they are required to pass many of the same types of exams, tests and internships that any other doctor in any other medical field would take.

The most significant difference between is the focus of the education. Most doctors are trained in pharmacology and the chiropractors are trained in spine health.

Students Benefit From Milk Switch: StudySubstituting low-fat and fat-free milk for whole milk in schools can greatly reduce students' consumption of calories and fat and help combat childhood obesity, says a new study. It examined the impact of the New York City Department of Education's decision to switch from whole fat to low-fat/fat-free milk in 2005. The change meant that a milk-drinking student was exposed to 33 fewer calories and 3.4 fewer grams of fat per school day, which works out to nearly 6,000 fewer calories and more than 600 fewer grams of fat a year. The effect was even greater for a student who drinks white milk -- 7,000 fewer calories and more than 900 fewer grams of fat a year. The researchers also found that school purchases of milk increased 1.3 percent after the switch.Making changes to school milk policy can help reduce students' consumption of calories and fat without decreasing their intake of important vitamins and minerals, the researchers concluded. The study appears in the latest Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.-----Rural Hospitals Admit More Medicare PatientsIn 2007, Medicare patients accounted for 45 percent of all stays at rural hospitals and 35 percent of stays at urban hospitals, says a new U.S. government report. The latest News and Numbers from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality also found that 36 percent of urban hospital patients and 25 percent of rural hospital patients were covered by private insurance. About 20 percent of patients in both urban and rural hospitals had Medicaid and about 5 percent were uninsured.Among the other findings:About half of the 2,000 rural hospitals in the United States had fewer than 50 beds, compared with 20 percent of urban hospitals.Among the two-thirds of rural residents who were hospitalized in rural hospitals, the top five illnesses were: pneumonia (267,000 stays); congestive heart failure (166,000 stays); chronic obstructive lung disease (146,000 stays); chest pain (110,000 stays); and fluid and electrolyte disorders, primarily dehydration and fluid overload (106,000 stays).Among the one-third of rural residents admitted to urban hospitals, the top five illnesses were: hardening of the arteries (108,000 stays); osteoarthritis (79,000 stays); back problems (75,000 stays); medical device, implant or graft complications (61,000 stays); and heart attack (61,000 stays).-----States Weigh Tougher Rules on Youth Head InjuriesMeasures to tighten restrictions on when young athletes can return to play after suffering a head injury are being considered by a number of states.Last year, Washington state set a precedent when it passed what's considered the strongest return-to-play law in the nation. It forbids athletes under 18 from returning to the game unless they have written approval from a licensed health-care provider. Similar bills are pending in several other states, including California and Pennsylvania, the Associated Press reported.Last year, Maine lawmakers approved creation of a working group on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of concussions in young athletes. New Jersey has created a commission to examine brain injury research. On Monday, a U.S. House committee will hold a forum to look at how high schools and colleges handle athlete concussions, the AP reported. The same committee has held hearings on head injuries in the NFL.-----Vital Social Skill Seems to Develop at Young AgeBabies develop an important social skill -- gazing -- when they're as young as 5 months old, according to a British study. The researchers found that when babies pay joint attention to an object, they use an area of the brain (left prefrontal cortex) that's involved in complex cognitive and social behaviors, United Press International reported.Joint attention -- when two people share attention to the same object -- is an important social skill necessary for teaching, language learning and collaboration, the researchers explained. Impairment in joint attention is one of the earliest signs of autism. The study appears in the journal Biology Letters.Health Headlines - January 29

Are People Eating To Many Takeaways And Not Enough Good Foods?

This isn't something that is going to tell you that you should cut back all of that chocolate, crisps and biscuits Or try and stop you from reaching for your favourite Indian takeaway menu. It adds to this by explaining all of the foods you should be eating on top of this to make sure your body receives everything it needs to plough through. Doesn't everyone know what the food wheel is all about? In basic terms it is a graph of all of the food that the body needs to stay active and healthy, and even the fatty stuff is needed. Some of the other on the list include dairy, meat and of course your five a day. On top of all of this there is another wheel within this that contains things like protein and calcium. So when you are eating that hamburger do not just think to yourself ill leave it at that, mix it up a bit. The next day cook a bit of fish to give yourself some protein and have a bit of a salad with it to make sure your body is getting what it needs. The thing is when you diet it is very hard to get everything you need to stay healthy (on the inside). Many people will exercise for hours and eat very little and many other will exercise then eat something that is very unhealthy and all you are getting are the body fats that the body needs but does not constanly need. A diet is a lot different to what people think at first. A diet is the food your body takes in to use everyday. Once you stop these important nutrients going into the body it is no longer a diet but starvation. There is a very fine line between being on a diet and starving your body of what it needs. Still there are things out there that you can take to make sure your body gets what it needs and they can often be found on an online heath stores. Efamol is a product that does just this as it allows the body to have the good fats it needs whilst denying it the bad ones that make the stomach and other parts of the body build up fatty residues. If its indigestion you suffer from then buy Silcea, it is what you need to help get rid of that inflammation.

Is It Possible 3D Technology Is Being Taken A Bit Too Far?

With 3D films becoming more and more so over the last few years has it gotten to the stage where we are going to be seeing more 3D films than non 3D films? Well as many people will know, channel 4 have recently had a presentation on their channel featuring loads of 3D things which actually seemed to gain a lot of interest from people. However has the time come where we are going to be replacing cheap glasses frames and cheap designer sunglasses with brand new 3-D glasses, after all they are very difficult to use if you already have poor vision. I personally think that because they are going to be bringing out these 3-D televisions that it has to all kick off. Although 3D is pretty cool there are actually many issues with it. Although companies are deneying it causes health problems it seems to give people headaches which is not a good sign. For one there are many movies out there that claim to be in 3-D that actually end up giving you quite a bad headache. A lot of the theme parks have had 3D and even 4D attractions for years so it was only a matter of time before it kicked off. In fact at Disney World Orlando they have a ride in which you do not just sit there and watch 3-D you play it. They had really put a lot of time and effort into this ride choosing the best 3D technology for it. So although I do not think 3-D will takeover from glasses frames with the new televisions on the way it is sure to make an impact. When it comes to 3D technology you are either really going to get into it or not be interested at all. So how on earth are those ocmputer games that you play for 8-10 hours straight going to turn 3D without giving you a banging headache.

Here Are The Best Spa Treatments

It is impossible to count all of the spa treatments out there. Many of these treatments you would haveheard of but there are others that no one has heard of and sound really strange when trying to explain. Here is a list of just some of the best ones that you consider having the next time you are in one of those spa hotels. Extractions In the long run this will actually help you out but in the short term it is not going to relax you but may cause you a bit of discomfort and pain. An esthetician removes blackheads and whiteheads. These will only take place after your skin has been cleaned, exfoliated and steamed as this helps soften up the face. Photo Facial This is skin treatment that will use some kind of light based technology. This treatment can actually help with a lot of different things but the main uses of it are to treat things like brown spots, broken capillaries and acne. Body Polish This is one of those treatments that people will confuse with a massage. There are a lot of different ways that you can do this kind of treatment and it can be done using a lot of different materials. Salt, sugar, coffee, rice bran, and pecan can all be mixed in with massage oil. To make sure that this treatment works the way in which it was designed you will have to take a shower straight after the treatment. Massage This is the most traditional form of spa treatment and is arguably one of the best ways in the world to relax somebody. Everyone will know that there are many forms of massage including back, head, and full body. It would seem that each one varies in price so the best idea is to look around. There is no reason at all that you have to stick here in the UK when it comes to getting a spa treatment. There are actually many places that offer mroe than just a weekend treatment and they can be found all over the world. It may be worth going on one of those Caribbean spa holidays or perhaps even one of those India spa holidays just to give it a try and see if it does well to your health.

Castor Oil helps you loose weight

Yes, your grandmother was right, castor oil is good for you, and in fact it's very good for you. Its a bit of a blast from the past and isn't as fashionable as retro telephones - which make unusual gifts, but it should be part of our modern lives. Ok, so it tastes awful and I remember running away at the very sight of my mother taking the bottle out of the cupboard, that oily texture that coated your tongue and just wouldn't go away for hours, yuk. But what is Castor Oil exactly? The Castor Plant of India supplies the beans, and the oil is crushed from the beans and gathered to create the oil? Their Oil is a pale odourless liquid and the remarkable thing about it is that it contains a single molecule of glycerol and three different fatty acids, palmitic acid, oleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid. Castor Oil contains much more energy than even proteins and.Early folk remedies used it to treat anything from skin problems to muscle pains and headaches. Many doctors still advise on what is called a castor oil pack, which is made by soaking a piece of flannel in castor oil, then putting it on the area of complaint and placing a heat source, such as a hot water bottle, on top of that. It is said that a castor oil pack is good for Inflammation, Congestion Constipation, Liver, kidney, and pelvic disorders. Just like acupuncture, Castor Oil helps blood flow through the skin. The wonderful thing about the oil is it's magical ability to repair the immune system. It does this by creating lymphocytes in the body, making the body able to fight off illness. A Castor oil pack would be applied to the lower abdomen, this would be done around 3 times per week to help blood flow. How did it do this? most likely due to Castor Oils ability to penetrate the skin. Tips on making a Castor oil pack: then three sheets of cotton or wool, this should be big enough to cover the affected area * Castor oil * Plastic wrap cut 1-2" larger than the flannel (can be cut from a plastic bag) a Container with a lid * Old clothes and sheets. Castor oil will stain clothing and bedding. So thats it, Castor oil is a hero after all. And if your a wuss, you could always add lemon to make it taste better.

But in 2003, state lawmakers limited that amount to 8 ounces of dried marijuana, theAssociated Press reported. In its ruling, the court said only voters can alter amendments they've added to the state's constitution through the initiative process. In related news, the Washington state Supreme Court ruled that police can arrest a patient or search a home even if a patient has a doctor's permission to use marijuana for medicinal purposes. In the ruling, the court upheld the conviction of a man who had a doctor's authorization and was arrested with 2 pounds of marijuana.-----Past Decade Warmest on Record: NASAThe past decade was the warmest on record, according to Earth surface temperature data released Thursday by the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration.NASA said the figures also show that 2009 was the second warmest year since 1880, when scientists first started recording such data. The warmest year was 2005 and the other warmest years have all occurred since 1998, The New York Times reported.Changes in ocean heating and cooling cycles cause variations in annual global temperatures, but when "we average temperature over 5 or 10 years to minimize that variability we find global warming is continuing unabated," said James E. Hansen, director of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies. The newly released data show an upward trend of about 0.36 degrees Fahrenheit (0.2 degrees Celsius) per decade over the past 30 years. Since 1880, there's been an average 1.5 degree F rise in global temperatures, the Times reported.-----Same-Sex Couples Good Parents: StudySame-sex couples are as good as male/female couples when it comes to parenting, say researchers who reviewed 81 studies of one- and two-parent families, including gay, lesbian and heterosexual couples."Children being raised by same-gender parents, on most all of the measures that we care about, self-esteem, school performance, social adjustment and so on, seem to be doing just fine and, in most cases, are statistically indistinguishable from kids raised by married moms and dads on these measures," said review co-author Timothy Biblarz, of the University of Southern California, USA Todayreported."It's more about the quality of the parenting than the gender of the parents," noted co-author Judith Stacey of New York University. The researchers also found that "two women who choose to parent together are slightly more likely than a heterosexual couple to be actively committed to hands-on parenting. We don't have data yet on two men parenting, but I think it will come out fairly similar," Stacey said, USA Today reported. The review findings will be published Friday in the Journal of Marriage and Family.-----Herpes Drug Doesn't Reduce HIV Infection RiskThe herpes drug acyclovir doesn't reduce the risk of HIV infection, a new study says. The five-year trial included more than 3,400 African couples in which one partner had HIV and one partner was HIV-free, Agence France Presse reported. The infected partners were randomly selected to take twice-daily doses of acyclovir or a placebo.During the study, there were 41 HIV infections among couples in which the infected partner took acyclovir, and 43 HIV infections among those who took a placebo. U.S. Veterans With PTSD Fight for Better CoverageThousands of U.S. veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars who were discharged from the military because of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) have been told they can apply for an expedited review of their cases to determine if they were improperly denied benefits. The legal notices sent to about 4,300 veterans explain that they have until July 24 to join a lawsuit against the U.S. military in order to be included in the expedited review, the Associated Press reported. The lawsuit was launched by seven combat veterans who allege the military illegally denied health care and other benefits to veterans discharged because of PTSD during a six-year period that ended Oct. 14, 2008.Each of the seven plaintiffs was given a disability rating of 10 percent or less when discharged. Since October 2008, the military has given a disability rating of at least 50 percent to those discharged with PTSD, the AP reported.A higher disability rating ensures lifelong monthly disability benefits for a veteran, free health care for the veteran and his/her spouse and health care for the veteran's minor children.-----Regular Sex Benefits Men's Hearts: StudyHaving sex at least twice a week can reduce a man's risk of serious heart disease by almost half, says a new study. It included more than 1,000 men, aged 40 to 70, who had no history of heart disease and were followed for 16 years. How COMPETITIVE is being accepted to (RN) nursing program?

I have a 3.9 GPA and study on a consistent basis (without no social life) In one of the cal states, they only accept about 35 students for one semester.

Now with that being said, I understand that the nursing program is not as competitive as law school, or medical but how competitive is being accepted to nursing school?

I see many people in my classes saying they want to become a registered nurse, but they don't have the grades to back it up. Do they have the chance to make it?

Dansko Makes The Highest Quality Nursing Clogs

When it comes to finding shoes for medical care executives, comfort is of extreme seriousness. For doctors and nurses who are on their feet pretty much the whole day, there are specially made comfortable women's shoes that are especially well fitting and and are made specifically for medical care professionals.

Feet can tolerate a lot of abuse every day without proper shoes. Without a comfortable shoe that also fits properly, ultimately your body will begin to complain and this can eventually lead to numerous health problems. So it's critically important to find the best nursing shoes.

Nursing shoes have come a good distance since the beginning. Today, Dansko nursing shoes come in a selection of styles, colors, and materials. the top priority when finding the best nursing shoes should be a cosy and supportive shoe that also allows the feet to move a bit and breathe. Close fitting shoes can lead to blisters, sores spots, and even poor circulation. Uncomfortable shoes could cause injury to ankles, knees, hips and can at last lead to back issues.

In fact, research shows that even a headache or a stomach-ache can be related to feet issues. There are twenty-six bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, and 19 muscles and tendons in human feet, which makes up about 25% the the bone structure in the body. Therefore , what gets put on the human foot can effect a quarter ( if not more ) of the body's general health, so choosing the best nursing shoes can have a big effect on an individual's health.

Dansko makes some of the best nursing shoes for both men and women. Dansko understands the importance of a well fitting and comfortable shoe. Defect Prompts Recall of 2 Million NeedlesTwo million Exel/Exelint Huber needles are being recalled because there's a risk they can push pieces of silicone into patients' bodies, says the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The needles are used to access injection ports implanted beneath the skin of patients with chronic diseases who require frequent injections, the Associated Press reported. The voluntary recall by Miami-based Nipro Medical Corp. includes needles made between January 2007 and August 2009.An FDA inspection of Nipro's manufacturing plant found that 60 to 72 percent of the needles have a design problem that can cause the needle to dislodge bits of silicone from the injection ports and possibly push the pieces into a patient's bloodstream, the AP reported.-----Victoza Approved for Type 2 DiabetesVictoza (liraglutide) has been approved to treat type 2 diabetes in some adults, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in a news release. But the agency warned that the once-daily injection shouldn't be used as an initial (first-line) treatment until additional studies are completed, since the drug may cause thyroid tumors or a rare disease called medullary thyroid cancer. People at risk for this type of cancer shouldn't use the drug, the FDA stressed.Victoza, among a class of medicines called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists, is meant to be used along with diet and exercise to control blood sugar by helping the pancreas make more insulin after a person eats.In clinical studies involving more than 3,900 patients, people who took Victoza had more cases of pancreatic inflammation (pancreatitis) than people who took other diabetes drugs, the FDA said. The drug should be stopped if severe abdominal pain develops or tests confirm pancreatitis, the agency said.Victoza is produced by Denmark-based Novo Nordisk.-----Hearing Problems Decreasing: StudyThe rate of hearing problems among Americans ages 45 to 75 has been decreasing for years, says a new study.Researchers analyzed the results of hearing tests conducted between 1993 and 2008 on about 5,300 people who were at least 45 years old and born between 1902 and 1962, the Associated Press reported. The participants were residents of Beaver Dam, Wis., and their children, who lived in different places.Men had an average 13 percent reduced risk of hearing impairment for every five-year increase in their date of birth, the study found. For women, the decrease was about 6 percent, the AP reported. The study was published in the American Journal of Epidemiology.Experts suggested a number of reasons for the decline in hearing problems, including fewer noisy jobs, better workplace ear protection, immunizations and antibiotics that prevent certain diseases, and perhaps even a decrease in smoking, the AP reported.-----Processed Foods Main Source of Sodium for ManyMany people consume too much sodium, and processed foods are the main reason why, new research shows.ScienceDaily reported Tuesday on the study set to appear in the February issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Australian researchers conducted a systematic review of the sodium contents of processed foods available in that country. Previous research has shown that high sodium intake can raise blood pressure. The team at the George Institute for International Health in Sydney said their database and descriptive data offer the tools and information needed for continued monitoring of sodium content in processed foods. The Australian research "is important in that these real-time data provide baseline information on the sodium content of many foods in Australia," American Society for Nutrition spokesman Roger Clemens said in a society news release. "A successful sodium-reduction process is likely to involve several steps, a gradual decrease in sodium such that food safety is not compromised while attempting to reduce the risk of elevated blood pressure among those who may respond to lower dietary sodium."-----More Melamine-Tainted Dairy Products Found in ChinaChinese officials say they've ordered the removal of melamine-tainted dairy products from the shelves of more than a dozen convenience stores in the southern province of Guizhou. The order to remove cartons of milk and frozen milk products dating from early 2009 came after health inspectors tested the products and found they contained melamine, the Associated Press reported.Health authorities are investigating why the tainted dairy products hadn't already been pulled from the convenience store shelves, said Guizhou government spokeswoman Ling Hu.The action comes more than a year after melamine-contaminated milk sickened hundreds of thousands of children in China, the AP reported. Melamine is used in the manufacture of plastics and fertilizer.-----U.S. Unprepared for Bioterror Attack: PanelThe United States isn't prepared for a biological terrorist attack, such as the release of deadly bacteria or viruses, according to a Congressionally mandated panel. The poor preparation for the swine flu outbreak in 2009 shows that the nation isn't positioned to respond to something more serious, said Randy Larsen, executive director of the Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation, the Associated Press reported.Larsen noted that the United States ran out of H1N1 swine flu vaccine despite a six-month warning from health officials that the disease would be potentially deadly. He said no one in the Obama administration has the lead for protecting the nation against a bioterrorism attack, the AP reported.-----Blood Glucose Level Affects Decision Making: StudyBlood glucose levels affect a person's decisions about present and future rewards, says a new study.Participants were asked a series of questions about whether they'd prefer to receive a certain sum of money tomorrow or a larger amount at a later date. The questions were asked before and after drinking either a regular soda or a diet soda with an artificial sweetener, United Press International reported. Those who drank a regular soda and had a higher blood glucose level were more likely to decide to receive a larger amount of money at a later date, while those who drank a diet soda and had a lower blood glucose level tended to take the smaller amount of money immediately. The University of South Dakota researchers said their findings suggest that higher levels of blood glucose are associated with more future-oriented decisions, UPIreported. The study appears in the journal Psychological Science.Health Headlines - January 27

C-Section Doesn't Affect Breast-Feeding: StudyContrary to a widely held belief, having a "non-natural" instrumental or Caesarean section birth doesn't affect how long a mother breast-feeds, says a British study that included 2,000 new mothers. But the researchers did find that a mother's ethnicity and the number of previous births did have an impact. White mothers were 70 percent more likely to stop breast-feeding than non-white women, BBC News reported. The study also found that babies who began breast-feeding within an hour of being born weren't breast-fed longer than those who started breast-feeding within 48 hours of birth. All the mothers in the study received breast-feeding help from the same peer support group. On average, they breast-fed for 21 weeks, and half of them breast-fed for more than 27 weeks, much longer than the national average, BBC Newsreported. The study was published in the journal BMC Pediatrics.-----Antibiotics Combo More Effective Than Single DrugHaving patients take the two antibiotics lankacidin and lankamycin at the same time is a more effective way to combat pathogenic bacteria than using either antibiotic on its own, a new study says.Individually, each drug is marginally effective at fighting pathogens, said the American and Israeli researchers. However, when used together, the two antibiotics are much more likely to be effective against dangerous pathogens such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureas (MRSA), United Press Internationalreported."What we found most amazing is that the two antibiotics appeared to help each other in stopping pathogens from making new proteins and in inhibiting bacterial growth," lead investigator Alexander Mankin, professor and associate director of the Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Illinois in Chicago, said in a news release. The study was published online in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.-----New Disinfectant Kills Wide Range of PathogensA new rapid-acting disinfectant may help reduce deadly infections in hospitals, German scientists say.The disinfectant is a simple alkaline detergent formulation mixed with 20 percent propanol, United Press International reported. In tests on surgical instruments, the disinfectant killed bacteria, viruses, fungi and prions that cause mad cow disease in cattle and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in humans."Standard formulations that eliminate prions are very corrosive," study leader Dr. Michael Beekes, of the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin, said in a news release, UPIreported. "The solution we've come up with is not only safer and more material-friendly but easy to prepare, cheap and highly effective."The study appears in the February issue of the Journal of General Virology.-----Curbs on L.A. Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Called 'Disaster' for PatientsA Los Angeles ordinance that places restrictions on medical marijuana dispensaries will dramatically restrict patient access to the drug, according to critics of the law.The measure, passed Tuesday by the city council, forces dispensaries to comply with local restrictions, such as being at least 1,000 feet away from parks, schools and libraries. In addition, dispensaries will not be allowed to abut or be across an alley from residential property, the Los Angeles Times reported. The restrictions will make it difficult to find suitable locations, say the operators of the estimated 150 medical marijuana dispensaries."It's a disaster for patients," James Shaw, director of the Union of Medical Marijuana Patients, told the city council after the vote, the Times reported.Health Headlines - January 28

Eating Right to Stop Eczema Breakouts

The diet of most people are high in calories, high in sodium and high in cholesterol. All these elements have a negative effect on your body, depleting it of vital nutrients and minerals. Remember what you eat creates you. It is your decision, it is up to you whether you live a healthy or unhealthy lifestyle and that includes your skin.In some shape or form the food found in the superstore are most likely processed food. What this means is that they are almost depleted of nutrients. Changing your diet will get you on your way to regain your healthy skin back. Fresh produce should be stacked up in your refrigerator when you open it up. These foods are full of the vitamins and minerals you need for your eczema skin. Here are the 3 foods to start with:¢ Cut down on red meat. Meat is very high in saturated fat and cholesterol that could affect your cardiovascular system. A high rate of mortality is caused by heart attacks and brain shutdowns in which high cholesterol is a culprit. Eating red meat is not a very good if you have Eczema. There are many fresh alternative sources of proteins so do not be concerned. It is proven that vegetables has a higher amount of protein than red meat.¢ Eat fewer processed foods. Chemicals in processed food can damage the cells of the skin. They also contain free radicals that encourage the disintegration of skin cells and thus cause abnormal cells to grow and turn to cancer. High amount of sodium that burdens your kidneys are found in processed foods. When your kidneys are damaged, they certainly won't go back to their former perfect organs.¢ Avoid too much alcohol and caffeine. These two are diuretics that prevent hydration of your body. Remember that water is the most important nutrient in your physiology and it is vital to all the skin's processes. Alcohol also has negative effect on your organs especially the liver and it is proven to be one of the most common causes of diseases.Remember, what you eat is what you become. Start eating healthy foods and start creating the best in you. Study shows that consuming krill oil can help prevent eczema but more on that later

Reducing epileptic seizures with ketogenic nutrition

Epilepsy is a relatively common neurological condition, affecting more than 50 million people over the world. People with epilepsy are known to have unprovoked seizures. When this occurs, the normal function of the brain is disrupted, and may affect the function of senses, muscles and consciousness. There are basically two types of seizures, either it is concentrated on only one part of the brain, or it is spread widely throughout the whole brain, possibly leading to a total loss of consciousness. There are many methods for healing epilepsy, most patients (about 60%) successfully treat epilepsy with the help of drugs, but about 30% of patients don't achieve control with the help of drugs. They unfortunately need to take more drastic measures in preventing and eventually curing this condition.Ketogenic diet is not only used in reducing body fat and overall weight. Another, probably less known feature of this diet is that it helps people with epilepsy reduce the frequency of seizures, or even become seizure-free. Many studies have been made on this topic, and it has been scientifically proved that this type of diet is effective. It has been found that people with epilepsy could reduce the frequency of seizures by at least 50% (in one half of the patients that tried this diet). In one third of the tested patients, there was a even greater reduction of seizure, reaching 90% reduction of seizure frequency. Thanks to the ketogenic diet, many children and adults that have epilepsy, have found a way to make their lives simpler and more enjoyable by finding this diet to be effective in lowering the frequency of seizures that they have.

Low carb diet - vegetables that should be avoided

There are many different types of nutrition plans and diets that one can find either online, or perhaps in some other sources as well. Many of them are based on a biological mechanism that is known as ketosis, in which ones body stops using carbs as the main source of energy, and instead uses its own body fat, and fat that is taken with food, as the main source of energy. The mentioned mechanism of ketosis can be achieved by a ketogenic type of nutrition, which is actually nothing else but just another name for a low carb diet, because on the ketogenic diet, your goal is to eat food that is rich in fats and proteins, and low in carbs. There are many different meals and food you can eat in order to meet the mentioned criteria. However, some types of foods should be avoided. A common topic that is debated are the vegetables - whether they should be taken on such types of diets or not. In situations like this, one should always try to find compromises. There are vegetables that can be eaten on such types of nutrition, and vegetables that should rather be avoided. As a general rule, we could mention, that the more carbohydrates that a vegetable has per 100 grams, the less it is appropriate for a ketogenic diet. Related to this group of vegetables, the following types should be avoided: beans, peas, onions, beet, potatoes, rice and similar. Relatively high amount of carbohydrates is what all the mentioned species have in common, and are therefore not appropriate for a low carb diet, because eating food like that would probably disturbe the state of ketosis.Fortunately, there are also many vegetables that can be eaten on such diets with no problems. Vegetables like lettuce, endive, cabbage, cucumbers, and various other types. There are many different salads appropriate for a ketosis based diet that can be made, one should only make sure that nothing containing too many carbs is added.

Low carbohydrate nutrition

In the recent years, many new types of nutrition have showed up, many of wich are related to a state called ketosis. In this state, your body doesn't use carbohydrates anymore as the primary source of energy, but instead it uses your own body fats, and the fats that you take in form of food. The state of ketosis is usually entered by going on a so called, ketogenic diet, where you mostly eat meals rich with proteins and fats (remember, you will burn that fat fast, so it's not a problem), but with very little or no carbohydrates. There are many ketogenic diets that can be found, either online, or from other sources, but here we will mention something that most of them have in common - low carbohydrate nutrition. There are basically four types of meals that can be prepared on these kinds of diets. Those are: Meals based on meat, meals based on fish, meals based on cheese, and meals based on eggs. All four of the basic ingredients mentioned here have the same property - they are rich in proteins and fats, but have a low content of carbs which is exactly what we wan't when being on a ketogenic diet. Eggs, bacon, sausages, fried fish, chicken, tuna, fresh cheese (quark), mayonnaise - these are just some of the many things you can eat on this type of diet. That may sound like an great diet to be on, but it isn't really simple to be on this type of diet for a longer time, so it is good (and necessary, because of the vitamins, fibers, and minerals you will get from vegetables) to also include some vegetables, but only those with relatively low content of carbs, like: lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers and similar vegetables. Other types of vegetables, like potatoes, beans and peas should be avoided because of their high content of carbohydrates. You may also wish to occasionally eat something sweet for a change. This may be a bit tricky, because you will have to use artifitial sweeteners, but there are many products made for people with diabetes, that contain no sugar, and can thereby be used on a keto diet. Finally, there is another good thing about the ketogenic type of diet is that many people realize that they have relatively bad habbits, like eating way too much carbs on a daily basis, and not even noticing it. Pasta, bread, and plain sugar are the most common food/ingredients that are usually taken in unnecessary amounts. By becoming aware of carbohydrate content in food that you eat, you will not only benefit by losing weight, but you will also develop new and healthy habbits that will accompany you later in life.

Obama On Health Reform: "Let's Get It Done"

Obama On Health Reform: "Let's Get It Done"
Wednesday January 27, 2010
After thirty-four minutes of speaking on everything from a new jobs bill, proposed banking fees, a spending freeze (to take effect after one year), and financial reform, President Obama finally discussed the sensitive issue of health reform in his State of the Union address. However, on his first few statements on the issue, he referred to it as "health insurance reform" instead of "health care reform".
Obama went on to say that he did not take on the issue of health reform to gain political popularity, but because of the "stories he has heard" from American families. He asked members of Congress to "take another look" at the health reform plans that have been proposed. According to Obama, the proposed health reform currently in legislation is considered by nurses, doctors, and medical professionals to be a "vast improvement" over the current health care system. The level of support that medical professionals have for health reform is a sweeping generalization that Obama repeats often, but there seems to be little or no supporting statistics or documentation of that support.

Obama went on to urge Americans and lawmakers not to walk away from reform efforts, ". . . not when we are so close." After taking his "share of the blame" for the failure of health reform to pass to date, Obama continued to extoll the virtues of health reform. He described once again how Americans could keep their plan and their doctor, and that health reform would reduce the deficit by $1 trillion over the course of a decade. He also warned of the dangers of ignoring or dismissing the issue of health reform, including increasing premiums, and additional loss of coverage and denial of care. It was more of the same in terms of Obama's "hard sell" on health reform. Do you disagree with the proposed health reform bill? Obama wants to hear from you. In a curious closing statement on the topic of health reform, the President said to "let [him] know" if anyone has a better plan; he is "eager to see it."

What will happen now? Do you think health reform will pass? If so, how much will it resemble the current bill(s), if at all?Obama On Health Reform: "Let's Get It Done"Source: www.about.com

HIV Blood From '90s Infected 74 in China

HIV-contaminated blood sold to a Chinese hospital in the 1990s and used in transfusions has infected 74 people, a health official said.

The director of a health center in central China discovered in 2003 a patient with HIV had sold his blood to the hospital, China's state-run Xinhua news agency reported Friday. The hospital traced all blood sellers and receivers before 1998 and found more than 20 sellers and 73 receivers were infected with the deadly virus.

[widget:become_a_nurse__logged_out_in_article]

One more patient tested HIV positive at the end of 2009, raising the total to 74.

China implemented The Blood Donation Law in 1998, banning blood selling and ordering testing of all blood supplies for HIV. Many who sold blood to the hospital were unaware they were infected, Xinhua said.

Li Songquan, director of the health bureau in Daye City, said there were no further cross-infections, but the Wuhan Morning Post reported more than 80 hospital patients who had blood transfusions became infected with HIV and they in turn cross-infected 20 family members.

The Daye city government is offering almost $3 million for treatment and compensation for the victims.

Which has more opportunities for travel/advancement and job openings, dental hygienist or nurse?

I am considering whether to be a nurse or dental hygienist. I realize that being a nurse has more career specialties. Are there also opportunities for advancement as a dental hygienist, such as starting one's own practice or moving into management. Also, are there any "traveling dental hygienist" positions that are paid. Can you join the Peace Corps as a dental hygienist? I really want opportunities, job security, and flexibility in whatever job I choose, but I would also like a pleasant work environment.

Colon Cleanser Facts

People frequently inquire if colon cleaners actually do work. I can frankly say that in my experience, emphatically yes. I firmly believe in general detoxification of the body as well as colon cleaning, but I wanted to first find out what others are saying.Multiple opinions are certain to abound whenever the subject of wellness arises. Colon care is not any different in that regard. I have heard critics claim that colon cleansing causes dehydration and destroys healthy bacteria. I usually take this advice with some bit of cynicism mainly because all of the reputable products I have seen tell you to drink lots of water. You should be drinking lots of water anyway. Most of the good colon cleaners I have seen contain beneficial bacteria and herbs to supplement your cleansing program.Do It Your SelfWith so many products available how do you know which colon cleaner to use? Most of these colon cleaners contain either dietary fiber or herbs, and most contain them both. These products are fairly cheap and do a good job as well. You must drink plenty of water even if it is not mentioned on the instructions. In the health food store, I talked to one guy who confided in me that herbs are great to clean your colon with. He mentioned that "going to an herbalist is also a good idea. Make sure you check with your doctor even if they are skeptical about colon cleansing. If you go to an herbalist, make sure to ask them about products to help you before and after your cleansing program."A slower, but free, method is going on a fast. Lots of the people I talked with go on a fast whenever the seasons change, or 4 times a year. The consensus was to go on a short 3 day fast where you eat only green vegetables, and if you really must, a little brown rice. Water is the best thing to drink on a fast, but herbal teas are also healthy. To help clean your blood you can put a few drops of Echinacea into your tea.ColonicsProfessional colonics are another great colon cleansing method. There are varied types of equipment, but they all use warm water and a sanitary method used to flush waste through the colon. Some people experience a little discomfort the first few times they have a colonic, but don't worry there is no pain. You could try one of the home colonic kits, but you will find that a professional colonic does a better job at thoroughly cleaning the colon. With a professional colonic you will see results much quicker than the other home remedies, but they do cost more. Many people ask about enemas, but professional colon hydrotherapy cleans the entire colon. Enemas clean only the lower colon.Visit this site for more information about colon detoxification and colon care! Colon Care .

Low carbohydrate nutrition - fats

There are many different kinds of nutrition plans and diets that can be found either online, or also in many other sources. Many of them are based on a biological mechanism known as ketosis, in which your body stops using carbs as the primary source of energy, and instead uses its own body fat, and fat that is taken with food, as the main energy source. There are many different meals and food you can eat in order to meet the mentioned criteria. Thanks to the fact that in the state of ketosis, your own fat as well as the fat you take with food, gets used as an energy source. Because of that, on the ketosis based diet, one can take higher amounts of fat, than would otherwise seem reasonable. Since the majority of meals taken during ketosis is based on meat, eggs and cheese, the fat intake is mostly already on a relatively high level. However there are also other sources of fat that can be combined with other types of meals so that one can get fed up more easily. Two of the most well known and most often used are mayonnaise and tartar sauce. Both of them have relatively high amounts of fat - mayonnaise has about 80 grams of fat per 100 grams, and tartar sauce has around 50 grams of fat per 100 grams. Because of that thay are both good sources of fat, that can easily be combined with, or added to various different meals. There are also many other sources of fats that can be combined with other meals on a ketogenic diet, one should only make sure that nothing containing to high amounts of carbohydrates is added.
