If you want to be a pharmacist, you should expect to spend years in the pharmaceutical program at a university. You will be required to get a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Usually, a prescription is filled out by an assistant and then given to a pharmacist to check over and sign off on. The pharmacist makes sure that the proper medication has been used. This can be tricky in some situations when the names of two very different drugs can be quite similar.
If you look online on job search websites, you can often find different positions available in a pharmacy. These can include working in a commercial drug store, the pharmaceutical section of a department store or grocery store, or even in a hospital or clinic. Depending on the level of responsibility you have in your position you may find that the necessary qualifications can range from a bachelor of pharmacy to a doctorate.
