traveloing nursing jobs,do you have to be licensed in each state you work in?

i see these staffing agencies promoting traveling jobs for nursing fields,like traveling cna's,rn's,surgical techs,etc.,and I was wondering ,do you have to go get licensed in each state you work in,and if so,do the staffing agencies generally take care of this for you?
