Becoming a nurse with a BS already? Can any of it be done online?

I'm a stay at home mom looking to possibly re-enter the workforce. I have a BS in Animal Science, but I'm thinking of going to nursing school. The trouble is that most of the programs I've looked at require on-campus learning unless you already have a RN license. Is it possible to do some or most of the coursework online, then go to an on-campus program? How would I find this out? I'd like to get started on this path, but I am unable to go to an on-campus program at the moment. With an 11-month old and no extra cash for daycare, it's just not possible right now. Also, would an ASN or BSN be a better choice for me now? Thank you!
