I have been asked to consider to give Communion to the elderly in nursing homes?

and I want to grow in my church.I can't help to ask why I was chosen.I do know my experience with working in nursing homes is well known.I consider it an honor to be asked but I wonder if I am ready .I want to serve my Lord in any way He asks of me.Was I asked because of my Lord or by humans or does the Lord work thru humans to serve His purpose?.
