is it easy to get hired at a nursing home?

I am going to school to become a medical assistand as well as a medical coder and I still have a lot of school left but just down the road from me there is a nursing home. I was wondering if anyone could give me advise about getting hired at a nursing home.

Also i have heard the turnover rate is high. Anyone have real knowledge of how easy it is to get into the nursing home job market.
