Teenage Fashion Style: Unique!

Articles describing and depicting fashion trends are everywhere-in magazines, on the Internet, in newspapers, and more. Fashion is a popular topic for everyone-from children and adults to even our pets, especially dogs.

But how about fashion advice for teens? Interestingly, if you search online, you'll discover locating articles on teenage fashion is not quite so easy.

So why is this happening? The reason for the lack of information about teen fashion is because trends are always changing and it is more difficult to pinpoint what the latest fad is in teenage fashion.

Many young people rebel during their teen years, and fashion is one way they can do this. So they actually spend a good deal of time and energy developing and inventing new styles and trends that set them apart.

Wearing bold, bright colors is one of the latest trends for teenagers. They particularly love combining vibrant pink, yellow, green, red, and black so they will make a real statement in a group. And they also like to express themselves with their hairstyles.

There aren't really many rules when it comes to teenage fashion, you can wear almost anything, but a popular trend is to wear close-fitting clothes of bright colors. Large bags, inexpensive jewelry, even lip piercings are popular in fashion today.

Some teen fashion styles are actually labeled with a name-like the Gothic (or Goth for short) style. This trend is marked by wearing clothing that is all predominantly black-from head to toe-and the use of black makeup. Particularly on light skin colors, the marked contrast has a dramatic effect. Goths also like thick soled shoes and metal jewelry and accessories like silver chains, zippers, etc.

Another fashionable look is the Czech style. This style is characterized by bohemian-styled light colored, loose fitting clothing and amber, stone, or wood accessories. Teens who like to dress in the Czech style are typically artistic or interested in literature and reading.

Since "anything goes" seems to be the predominant teenage style, one would think teens could wear anything and still look "hip." Unfortunately, it's not quite that simple. Teenagers are still heavily influenced by the style their friends choose to wear and their prevailing attitudes and ideologies at this particular stage in their life.

The most important thing with teenage fashion, though, is to adopt an individual twist to whatever primary style you select. This is what makes you unique and creative.
