What are the perks of Forensic Nursing?

How hard is it to become a Forensic Nurse? I am 28 and have no medical background but I have decided to go back to school to become a RN then somehow turn that into forensic nursing. I don't necessarily want to work with the dead on a daily basis but i want to work in the ER and spot the signs of abuse and help sexually assaulted victims! what are the ins and outs along with the pros and cons of forensic nursing?
