Nursing jobs: What can you do with a bachelors that you can't with an associates?

I know that a bachelors degree is generally needed for admin positions. But what type of jobs generally prefer a bachelors degreee? For example, does a job in the emergency room prefer a bachelors degree and the newborn nursery only require associates? I know this varies by location, but any info would be appreciated!
