Certifications Required for Medical Jobs

Certifications Required for Medical Jobs
Sunday March 21, 2010
What are the basic certifications required for medical jobs?  Due to the wide variety of medical careers, the certifications, credentials, and registrations differ quite a bit from job to job within the healthcare field.  However, there are a few basic certifications required for almost all medical professionals, pertaining to life support.

Any medical professional who works with patients in any capacity should be able to provide resuscitation to assist with breathing and circulation in the event of respiratory or cardiac failure.  The three most common certifications are basic life support (BLS), advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), and pediatric advanced life support (PALS).  Everyone from daycare center workers to doctors should have passed one or more of these courses.

If you are already certified with one of these life support courses, you may want to head to Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. tonight.  Depending on how the hotly debated healthcare reform vote transpires in the next few hours, life support may be needed for many of the members of the political party that the vote doesn't favor.Certifications Required for Medical JobsSource: www.about.com
