Nurses' Week May 2010

Each year, May is the month when nurses, and many different types of nursing roles, are recognized and celebrated. These recognitions are a way for nursing professional associations to recognize their members, as well as to promote it to other potential future nurses. Additionally, Nurses' Week is also a time for employers to recognize their nursing staff. Below is a list of the nursing recognition dates.

National Nurses' Day: May 6
Some also refer to this as National RN Day.

Nurses' Week: May 6 - 12
This year's theme for Nurses Week is "Caring Today for a Healthier Tomorrow," according to the American Nurses Association (ANA). All types of nurses are recognized throughout this week.

National Student Nurses' Day: May 8
Recognizing future nurses who are in school or training.

National School Nurses Day: May 12
Honors nurses who work in schools and school systems.
