Basic Tips for Nursing Students in Writing Nursing Essays

First year nursing degree students would already encounter the writing of nursing essays because essays and other forms of academic writings are a necessary of part of their curriculum. Some first year nursing students may experience some writing challenges, but some basic writing tips would help them to overcome the challenges.

The basic writing tips for nursing essays: ?

Make an outline – Typical nursing essays could have from 500 to 1,000 words under a limited number of pages required by the lecturer. Based on the materials and information the student has collected from his research, he should make an outline of the important information and ideas that he got by reading and analysing all the materials he collected.?


Get the relevant information – After reading and analysing all the information in the outline, he should highlight or mark down the appropriate and relevant information that he should include in the draft.?


Write an essay draft – The student should read, review and re-write the draft several times until the student comes up with a final version that is free from errors in content, grammar and spelling, and it has a coherent flow of reading.
