6 Releasing Stress Keys At Work

One of the trickier stresses we confront in our day to day life is the stress imposed on us by our workplace. Targets to meet, deadlines to meet, productivity to accomplish, performance reviews to survive - it all takes its toll. Yet, by practicing the following concepts we can dramatically reduce it.

1. Have a Thicker Skin
It is very likely that, despite the best practices that a company might employs to eliminate workplace bullying, an unproductive worker - particularly an unproductive manager - will look for others to shift blame to, for deadlines not met or mistakes made. Higher your standards and make a conscious decision what to react to and what to ignore.

2. Replace Self Blame with Conclusions and Learning
Regardless workplace rank or position, many people tend to intensify their stress by blaming themselves for past actions. Now, before speaking about the distractive aspects of blame, the only thing we can do about other people blaming us is listening, taking our role into consideration and make up our mind about our future actions. And for our self blame talk - for a stress-less life we must totally replace the blame with accepting only the facts and without judgment move-on with a new learning.

3. Detailed Planning
Often detailed planning can vastly lessen stress. Not leaving things until the last minute, or making emergency plans to avoid an unexpected circumstance not only helps the project move along more smoothly but it causes less stress even when things do go wrong.

4. A second Parachute
Always have reserves. In an already tight deadline it might seems like an unneeded extra safety layer. But like every decent "Murphy Law" when there is anything that can go wrong, it will go wrong. That is why preliminary arrangements can harvest more peace of mind and less stress afterward. No one jumps a plane without a spare parachute.

5. Get rid of Rashness
Have you ever heard that - haste makes waste? Well, now is the time to start implementing it. Since impulsiveness and last minute decisions are not only terrible decision making process and bad to any overall project but also a dramatic stress factors. Making decisions under stress and firm deadlines are a sure formula for confined resolutions and misjudgment. Calculated and relaxed analyzing is good to reduce stress as well for a better brainstorming and plan making.

6. Establish Order
To finish, Stress is usually caused by being a victim of a self chaos. Setting boundaries between work and home is essential for reducing stress. Leave work without the extra unnecessary baggage of work stress. It is heavy enough as it is, isn't it? Besides, you owe it to your personal life to be present, available and devoted as you are for work. Therefore at the end of the work day: go home, relax, recharge your batteries and sleep well. Tomorrow is a new day and you would better be prepared to catch its opportunities. Wouldn't you?
