Info on becomming an RN is soooo complicated. Can someone please clear up my questions?

I will soon be going to school for 3 months to become a CNA. Afterwards, I am attending CSI Career College doing an accelerated program that lasts 15months (also paying k but it includes 3 mos of pre-req classes) in order to get a certificate as a LVN. My goal is to becomme an RN.

I did a lot of research online but am confused about a few things. Please answer as much as you can. I need this info to make sure im following the right path.

1. What is the minimum "title" needed in order to start working in a hospital? In other words, do i at least need a certificate, degree, or diploma?

2. I heard that a certificate in LVN is not as good as a degree. Is this true? If so, how much work is needed to go from certificate to degree/diploma?

3. Is an ASN/BSN necessary to become an RN? Where does this fall in the path to becomming an RN? Im under the impression that first your a CNA, then become an LVN and lastly a RN.

4. Am I paying too much for the LVN school?

Thank you
I live in Fairfield, and looked into schools such as Unitek College (,298 for 11 mos LVN program WITHOUT pre-reqs), and even Gurnick Academy of Med. Arts (14 months long ,350).
My local Adult School only offers CNA courses (0 for 3 mos), and the community college wants you take all these pre-reqs before you even start the nursing program. I would like to go to school for about a year.

Where can I find info for LVN/LPN programs that are a year long for around k, like some of you mentioned below???
