What are good nursing home activities for a teen volunteer to do with an elderly person?

I am a young teen and I feel that I have a calling to volunteer at a local assisted living facility and just keep them company and give them someone to talk to. I wanted to know what kind of activities me and my matched person could do . And also what tips you might have to make it a comfortable and un-awqward meeting. Thanks!
